Minister Hage Visits Alfa for End-of-Year Greetings: Telecom Never Sleeps, Sector Is on the Right Track to Meet The Expectations of the Lebanese People

Beirut - Lebanon, December 29, 2025: Minister of Telecommunications, Charles Hage visited today the headquarters of Alfa in Dekwaneh to review ongoing operations and assess network readiness during the holiday season, a period marked with increased demand for mobile and internet services. He was welcomed by Chairman and CEO Rafic El Haddad and Alfa’s management team.

Minister Hage congratulated the Alfa team on “their efforts throughout the year, which resulted in network modernization and improved service quality that will serve as a solid foundation for the coming year”. He stated: “Telecom never sleeps,” urging employees to “exert maximum efforts to maintain a high level of network availability so the sector meets expectations”.
He emphasized “the Ministry of Telecommunications commitment to developing and modernizing the mobile sector”, noting that this commitment “will be reflected in the 2026 strategy which aims to upgrade the telecoms infrastructure in order to deliver an integrated digital experience that meets the expectations of the Lebanese people”.
He explained that “the plan includes improving service quality, upgrading and expanding network coverage, providing Fixed Wireless Access (FWA), fiber-optics and satellite services, and launching the rollout of 5G services”. “These efforts will directly contribute to empowering and strengthening the digital economy”, he said.
Minister Hage congratulated Alfa on its performance in 2025, which “was reflected in increased revenues”, emphasizing that “investment in the network has proven its effectiveness and value”. He also commended “Alfa’s initiatives to offer well-designed and discounted packages for students and subscribers”.
He added: “This year, I witnessed a high level of productivity among Alfa’s employees, and I am confident in their ability to continue working with the same motivation in the coming year”.

Alfa CEO and Chairman, Rafic El Haddad outlined to the Minister the action plan developed by Alfa to accommodate increased consumption and ensure service continuity and quality. He thanked the Minister for “his support throughout 2025, which was a key factor in the achievements the company accomplished”.
He assured that Alfa’s network “demonstrated high efficiency in accommodating the significant increase in consumption during 2025, which saw a notable rise in total internet usage both at the network level and per subscriber, with average consumption exceeding 10 gigabytes.”
Haddad noted that “the network development plan is continuing with growing momentum”, stating: “We have deployed 38 new sites in 2025 and enhanced 4G capabilities across a large number of sites. This effort will intensify further in the coming year with the support of Minister Hage”.
He also pointed out that “Alfa is fully prepared to meet the high demand during the holiday season which increased by more than 30% compared to 2024”.
