Under the high patronage and in the presence of H.E. the Minister of Environment, Nazem Khoury, the “Ecoact” - “alfa 4-Life” environmental initiative for Acsauvel youth was launched during a press conference held at the Ministry of Environment. Under “Ecoact”, Acsauvel will be producing eco-friendly and biodegradable bags that will be sold in supermarkets, hence guaranteeing continuous self-funding. This initiative completes the “Cleanliness is our Citizenship” environmental activity that Acsauvel students started in 2012 where they raised awareness about the importance of cleanliness of the coast.
“Ecoact” aims at raising awareness on the need to maintain the forests’ cleanliness and at integrating actively persons with special needs into society by supporting environmental causes. Acsauvel students will tackle the “Cleanliness of the City” in 2014.
“My name is Dima and I am an Acsauvel student. I have participated in many environmental activities with alfa. Now I know more about nature and how to protect it. I like to help and spread awareness as this makes me feel that I am an active and useful member in our society.”
