How it works

  • CLIP Alert is free for Message Box subscribers. Just divert your calls to 1343 for free.
  • If you don’t have access to Message Box, you can divert your calls to 1344 for free.
  • To benefit from CLIP Alert, you must subscribe to Call Divert.
  • To receive incoming call notifications when your mobile is off or out of reach, type**62*1344#, then press "yes".
  • To bar all incoming calls and receive an SMS notification with the number, date, and time, type**21*1344#, then press "yes".
  • To cancel Divert All Calls, type##21#, then press "yes".
  • To divert calls when line is busy, type**67*1344#, then press "yes".

About
VIP allows you to filter numbers that can reach you on your mobile for extra privacy. You can also limit access to callers who you have previously given the VIP code to.
 

Features and Useful Tips

  • Add up to 10 numbers under one of the lists (Allowed and Not Allowed)
  • Add country prefixes to filter calls from certain countries, and control the times and dates these numbers can contact you.
  • Filter voice or video calls.
  • Block calls from private numbers.
  • Block SMS notifications.

 

How to use it
Log in to the VIP Section to manage your VIP and Access PINcodes, and follow the instructions to set the time/date intervals for each number from the lists. These intervals can be edited anytime. The list of numbers can be filtered by voice and video calls depending on your preference.
VIP service can also be managed by calling 115.

Advice of Charge allows you to track and control your communication budget. You can see the cost of your calls on your mobile screen (some mobile phones do not have this capability).

How it works
Go to the "Call Costs" menu by typing the PIN2 code that you will be given when you subscribe to this service. 

  • Set the unit value at "0.6"(0.60 for Motorola phones).
  • Go to "Cost Limitation" menu to set the desired consumption ceiling in cents. No outgoing call can be made above this ceiling unless changed.
  • Go to the "Show Call Costs" menu to see the cost of the calls.

Note: This service does not reflect the total amount of your bill.

The Advice of Charge service gives you only the amount of the connection to the Alfa network. It does not take into account all other costs concerning monthly subscriptions, call divert, international access, and SMS.

SOCLIR allows you to control the display of your number during each call; you can decide to show your number or not.
 

How SOCLIR works
There are two types of subscriptions to this service:

  • When using SOCLIR 1, your telephone number is hidden by default on the screen of the correspondent. You can choose to show your number by dialing *31# before the number you are calling or by referring to your mobile phone user guide.
  • When using SOCLIR 2, your telephone number is displayed by default on the screen of the correspondent. You can choose to hide your number by dialing #31# before the number you are calling.

N.B.: Some mobile phones do not have the SOCLIR option.

About Twin

The Twin service allows customers to hold two SIMs cards with two different numbers! What’s cool about this service is that only the main number is displayed.

  • Twin subscribers get 60 free minutes a month.
  • Customers can only receive Twin’s SIM card from one of our Alfa stores.
  • It cannot be activated by calling 111, however customers can call to cancel.

 

How it works
The Twin service concept fits car kits, but SIM specification must be 8 K or 64 K.
The CLIR service is mandatory and free on the twin card, so the twin number cannot be called.
Calls diverted from the main number to the twin are done automatically and free of charge if:

  • There is no answer on the main number after 15 seconds.
  • The main number is out of reach, is engaged, or the call is rejected (by pressing“no”).

The main number can call Twin (only if diverted calls are activated) by dialing its own number, while Twin will have to call the main number. The tariffs per minute are similar to the normal rate of $0.11 (VAT excluded).


How much it costs

  • It’s only $50 (VAT excluded). 
  • Twin fees are paid once during the line's lifetime.
  • Twin monthly fees are $15 (VAT excluded).
  • Hold, CLIP, Call Waiting, Conference Call, SMS, and CLIR are free with Twin!
  • Calls per minute are the same rate as the normal one: $0.11 (VAT excluded). 

The Twin number will be added on the main’s contract number, thus the same mode of payment will apply to both numbers.
All services can be activated on the Twin line except VIP, Message Box, Clip Alert, GPRS/WAP, and Advice of Charge services.

About
The video call feature allows you to make and receive local calls while seeing the person you’re talking to.

Making a video call is as simple as making a phone call; just dial the number and press the video call icon.
Note: For successful two-way calls, both parties should have 3G/4G network coverage and a 3G/4G video-enabled handset.
 

How much it costs
The video call feature has no monthly subscriptions fee and is  charged by minute.
Local: $0.40 per minute.
International: Different tariffs apply depending on the country you are calling; click here for tariffs.
 

Useful tips
The Video Call feature can be enabled or disabled from your handset.
While calling, you will not be able to benefit from the Call Waiting service and multi-party feature.
If you are subscribed to the VIP service and have the VIP code enabled, your video call will not go through.

About
This service allows you to activate a 24/7 answering machine where callers can leave a voice message.
Voicemails are gathered in one mailbox and you can access them from any of the following:

  • Your line by calling 113 ($0.11/min excluding VAT)
  • Any landline or other operator’s line by calling 03 390113, then entering your 8-digit mobile number followed by your pin code (normal tariffs apply)
  • From abroad by calling +961 3390113, then entering your Alfa Prepaid phone number, followed by your PIN code.

It’s a great way to share your megabytes on all of your devices (phones, tablets, dongles, and routers), as well as with your family and friends.

Starting from the 10 GB bundle, primary account users can share the bundle they are subscribed to for free with up to three secondary account users.

Secondary users can benefit from the shared bundle MBs assigned by the primary account user for just $2 (renewable every 30 days).

How to configure your e-mail?

 

Option 1: Setting your e-mail account using your device
 

Step 1: Verify your BlackBerry® smartphone is connected to the wireless network.

Step 2: From the home screen, go to “Setup.”

Step 3: Click “Setup Wizard.”

Step 4: Click “Email Setup.”

Step 5: In the Setup Wizard, select “I want to create or add an email address” and follow the wizard to open the email setup website on your device.

Step 6: If you agree to the legal terms and conditions, click “Yes” after the statement, “I have read and understood the end user agreement,” then click on the "I Agree" link.

Step 7: To associate an existing supported email address with your BlackBerry® device, fill in the email address information. Then click “Next,” then “OK.”

Step 8: To create a new email address for your device, click Create a BlackBerry® email address. Type your desired BlackBerry® email address and password. Confirm any additional information and click the OK link.

Step 9: To learn more about setting up email addresses or using the email setup website, click “Help.”

Step 10: To log out of the email setup website, click the [MENU] key and select “Close.”

 

Option 2: Setting your email account using your computer.
 

Step 1: Register the BlackBerry® smartphone over the wireless network. Navigate to your wireless service provider's BlackBerry® Internet Service from the Alfa account page at https://alfa.blackberry.com.

Step 2: Click “Create New Account Set Up.”

Step 3: Read the legal terms and conditions carefully, then select “Yes” and “I Agree.”

Step 4: Type the personal information number (PIN) and International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) for your BlackBerry® smartphone, and click “Continue.”

Step 5: Type a user name and password, then click “Next.”

Step 6: Your BlackBerry® Internet Service account from Alfa is now set up. You may begin adding email accounts or creating a BlackBerry® email address.

 

Important Notice:

Alfa provides support only for BlackBerry® service and devices excluding:

  • Any handhelds not manufactured by RIM or any applications or software developed by anyone else, including end users or third party vendors that run on RIM handhelds, or included as part of any third party handhelds.
  • Any BlackBerry Enterprise Server Software operating substantially in accordance with documentation supplied by Alfa.
  • Third party applications.

Rules:

Whenever you try to purchase goods from specific merchants with whom Alfa has an agreement (through LibanCall), the AlfaPay option will be displayed among other methods.

 

In case you are making the purchase over a non-Alfa network, you will be asked to confirm through a PIN authentication method.

 Your PIN code will be received by SMS and you will have to type it on the merchant store to complete the purchase.

The maximum amount per transaction will be $20. The transaction and the total maximum amount per month will be $100 for both prepaid and postpaid subscribers:

For postpaid subscribers, reset is done on the bill cycle.

Roaming Regional allows you as an Alfa Postpaid subscriber to stay connected and reachable while traveling in Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates. It is automatically activated upon entering both countries and deactivated whenever you leave. With this service, calls can only be made locally and to Lebanon, unless International Access is activated, making international calls possible.
 

Activation And Fees
Activating the Roaming Regional service is free. 
You will need to put a refundable $300 deposit at any Alfa store, along with an automatic direct debit from the bank, as a method of payment.
No deposit is required if you are already subscribed to International Access (upon a letter of guaranty or deposit for more than 6 months); or have an automatic direct debit from the bank for more than 6 months (no deposit is required). You can activate the service by simply calling our free helpline 111.
Note: When roaming, you pay for incoming calls.

Two options are available:

  • Limited International Access allows you to make international calls up to $50 (or $80 depending on certain criteria). This option is active by default.

Activation Requirements

  • The Roaming service and Mobile Internet, WAP, or/and BlackBerry ® services are pre-requisites for Data Roaming activation.
  • If you already have both Roaming and one of the services listed above, you will be able to use Data Roaming only if you request service activation. There is no automatic or default activation.

 

How much is it?

  • Data Roaming service subscription and activation are free of charge.
  • For each and every time you roam, you are only charged for your MB usage abroad. Charges depend on the foreign country visited.
  • Sending or receiving an MMS is charged per volume and can reach $3/MMS.
  • Usage tariffs do not differ by time of day (i.e. peak and off-peak hours).
  • Data Roaming is only operational in countries with which Alfa has Data Roaming agreement.

Tap2Pay allows you to pay through smartphones and readers that have NFC technology.
In order to benefit from Tap2Pay, you must have:
A mobile phone with NFC capabilities
An NFC SIM card (Once the NFC SIM card is inserted, a “Tap2Pay” icon will appear directly on the menu of your phone.)
A Bank Audi MasterCard credit card in LBP or USD
 

Enrollment:
In order to benefit from the service, you can apply at any Bank Audi branch or Alfa store by filling and signing an application. 
Bank Audi performs the SIM card replacement and delivers it to you within 48 hours. 
Once the old SIM card stops, you can insert your new NFC SIM and start using your smartphone normally to make phone calls and mobile payments.
You have to make sure that the NFC service is enabled on your smartphone’s settings.
 

Payment Transaction:
A Tap2Pay transaction is completed when you choose Tap your mobile to pay on the application, type your passcode, the merchant enters the amount to be paid on the POS machine, and you tap your phone near the reader.
 

Useful info
Bank Audi charges $15 annually for Tap2Pay usage.
This service is available for all prepaid and postpaid lines.
It can be used anywhere in Lebanon and abroad; there’s no need to have the Roaming service activated.
There’s no need to have internet connection to make a payment.
In case the NFC-enabled phone or SIM card is lost, you should immediately call Bank Audi to stop the NFC service and Alfa to suspend the line.
SIM card replacement is performed at any Bank Audi branch and costs $8.
Upon line cancellation, the NFC service remains active. Accordingly, you must contact the bank to stop it.
The NFC service will not be affected if the mobile number is suspended for any reason.

Like the traditional SMS, the MMS (multimedia messaging service) enables automatic personal messages. Additionally, MMS allows mobile users to add high-quality images, sounds and animation to their messages (up to 3000 characters).

  • The validity of the tone is 30 days and will be automatically renewed. 
  • "Rannat" subscribers will receive an SMS, 2 days prior to the tone’ expiry date, informing them that the tone will be renewed. 
  • The latest tone purchased will be automatically set as your default "Rannat" tone. 
  • Prepaid subscribers are not allowed to purchase a "Rannat" tone if the line is in retention or don’t have enough credit. 
  • Postpaid subscribers are not allowed to purchase a "Rannat" tone if the line is suspended. 
  • Each subscriber can purchase up to 100 tones per album. 
  • The service will be deactivated when all tones are deleted or when you request to cancel it by sending an SMS with the letter "D" to 1412.
